Swift Cold water rescue

Our Fire deptarment founded the first Cold Water /swift water rescue unit in Clinton county in 1990.
Today there are 7 swift/ cold water rescue units in the Clinton County. Champlain Fire, Keeseville Fire, Lyon Mountain, Morrisonville Fire,Rouses Point Fire and Saranac Fire
Our Equipment consists of An Aircommander Hovercraft capable of traversing land water and ice and swift water such as rivers with speeds of up to 60 mph over ice on Lake champlain for long distance rescue.
We can be the hovercraft into service for flooded areas that are inaccessable by boats where swift water is present.
We use Mustang and Stearns Cold water immersion suits. We are currently upgrading our dry suits for swift water rescue.
We have a Bridger line gun for throwing line up to 1500 ft. if needed for running lines across a river for swift water rescue. and a small 22 caliber blank fire line thrower for smaller needs.
